Department of Pathology Education

With more than 100 clinical and research faculty committed to advancing the careers of our trainees, the Department of Pathology at NYU Langone provides a rich educational environment for early-career pathologists.
We are home to a Pathology Residency with four focused tracks, PhD training programs in molecular oncology and tumor immunology and in immunology and inflammation, post-residency fellowships in various pathology subspecialties, postdoctoral training in a range of research areas, and training programs for medical students, including summer fellowships.
As a trainee working with our faculty scientists, you participate in exciting projects in modern laboratories. Our more than 40,000 square feet of research and lab space is equipped with the latest technologies and offers our academic pathologists, basic scientists, and translational researchers a central location to meet and exchange ideas.
Our location in Midtown Manhattan is adjacent to NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital and central to a thriving biomedical community. We encourage collaboration with nearby facilities including NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue and NYU Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences.
Three fundamental principles unify our training programs: a commitment to individual mentoring, an emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, and an overarching goal to improve human health through patient care, basic research that probes the fundamental mechanisms underlying health and disease, and clinical research that explores promising new therapies.
